My Top 5 Picks for Dine Out Vancouver 2017
Dine Out Vancouver Festival (#DOVF) is back at it again from Jan 20 to Feb 5th, 2017! Their menu prices are now segmented into $20, $30, and $40 menus which includes appetizer, entree, and dessert. If you haven’t decided which restaurant to go to, or just need some help narrowing down ALL the restaurants that are available, here are my top 5 picks for this year.
-
Edible Canada at the Market ($30 | Dinner)
I had the opportunity to try out a few #DOVF restaurants in the Granville Island area and I thought Edible Canada at the Market was by far the best. This year, they’re serving up (the oh so controversial) seal pappardelle, rabbit orecchiette, lamb heart, and bison tartare. If you’re up for trying new and wild ingredients, this is the place to go. When else are you ever going to have the opportunity to try lamb heart?!
-
Maenam ($30 | Dinner)
I went to Maenam last year and I was SO IMPRESSED by the quality of their food. If you want to read the full post on what I had last year, check it out here. Make sure you come here with a large group (I came with 7 people last time) because it’s served family style and these soups, curries, appetizers, and desserts are best shared. -
Ouisi Bistro ($30 | Dinner)
I have never been here before but the cuisine of New Orleans has always fascinated me. Their menu this year looks like it boasts some pretty cool flavour combos like Blackened Chicken Gumbo over Green Rice and Pecan Crusted Catfish with Orange Chipotle Cream. -
Water St. Cafe ($30 | Dinner, $20 | Lunch)
I came here for #DOVF many years ago and unfortunately I didn’t blog about my experience because the restaurant was really dim and I couldn’t get any good pictures. Nevertheless, Meta Knight and I had a fabulous experience here and thought the food was absolutely fantastic. If you end up coming here, I’d recommend the squid ink fettuccine and flourless double chocolate espresso cake. 🙂 -
*SPLURGE* Nightingale’s Chef’s Table Experience ($63.35 | Dinner)
As you may know, Nightingale is opened by the critically acclaimed David Hawksworth and is the winner of Westender’s: Best New Restaurant Award and Best Interior Design Award. This year for Dine Out, they are providing customers a unique private dining experience by inspiring them with seasonal produce and fresh flavours. I heard great things from bloggers who went to the preview and they said the Porchetta is a must try! If you have the monies, I say give Nightingale a try (and invite me please!).
Happy Eating!
