Tickets On Sale Now for BC Seafood Festival (June 8-17, 2018)

It’s that time of year again! The BC Seafood Festival returns from June 8- 17th of this year and I am stoked for what is to come after having gone to both the media preview event and the actual seafood festival last year. I can confidently say now that I’ve experienced this festival firsthand, that it is an event that is not to be missed if you are a true seafood lover. Now, you might think the only aspect of the festival I enjoyed was the food. However, what I actually found most valuable was the perspective and clarity that it gave me on how the agricultural business works and just how hard they work to support, raise, and innovate in order to allow us to eat all of the amazing shellfish and seafood with the least amount of adverse effects on the environment. It was truly an educational experience.

This year’s festival will be held again in beautiful Comox Valley, and will feature new events and celebrations including celebrity chef demonstrations, scrumptious seafood tastings, interactive displays, and competitions including the famous Fanny Bay Oyster Shucking Competition and the OceanWise Chowder Challenge.

Out of the entire festival, I think what I’m most excited about is the Signature Weekend from June 16th- 17th. Not only will there will be 15+ seafood tasting stations as well as 15+ BC craft beer, wine, and spirit tasting stations, there will also be live music performances, celebrity chef demonstrations, and seafood cooking classes!

Last but not least, there will be an event called Shucked! on Friday June 15th, which is Canada’s largest happy hour oyster bar. I mean how crazy amazing is that?! I sadly missed it last year… I am not missing it again this year!
