TOP 5 DIM SUM RESTAURANTS in no particular order
1) Western Lake Restaurant

If you’re looking for huge portions, affordable prices, and really authentic Hong Kong-style dim sum, Western Lake is one of my go-tos. Their portions are seriously generous, and even after all these years, the prices are still pretty reasonable. Most importantly, the food actually tastes really good!

Just be prepared for a lineup, especially on weekends. I recommend going during a non-peak time, like a weekday, or grabbing takeout, which they offer at a discount. Also, don’t sleep on their dinner menu! At night, Western Lake turns more into a classic Cantonese seafood restaurant, and their seafood dishes are also really delicious.
2) New Mandarin Seafood Restaurant

New Mandarin is on the MICHELIN Guide for a reason! The restaurant has a more elevated feel compared to your typical dim sum spot, and while the prices are definitely on the higher side, the quality is also very high.

They also have lots of unique and cute dim sum items that I love ordering. Some of my favourites include the adorable piggy puddings, red rice rolls filled with shrimp, and squid ink fried rice. If you want dim sum that feels a little more special, this is a great choice.
3) Neptune Palace Seafood Restaurant

Neptune Palace has multiple locations around Metro Vancouver, and similar to New Mandarin, it offers a more comfortable and elevated dim sum experience. You’re not coming here for super cheap dim sum, but the higher prices are reflected in the quality of the food and the overall dining experience.

And of course, you HAVE to get the cutest item on the menu: their mango ducky pudding! It’s adorable, delicious, and definitely one of those dim sum dishes that you’ll want to take a photo of before eating.
4) Jade Dynasty Restaurant

Located conveniently in Vancouver’s Chinatown, Jade Dynasty is one of my favourite places for authentic dim sum in downtown Vancouver. The food is really good, the atmosphere feels genuinely Cantonese, and the staff are friendly while still having that classic Hong Kong dim sum hustle and charm!

One of the biggest reasons I love this spot is that they serve dim sum all day, which is surprisingly rare! So whether you’re craving har gow in the morning, afternoon, or later in the day, Jade Dynasty is a great option.
5) Sun Sui Wah Seafood Restaurant

Sun Sui Wah is a classic Vancouver dim sum restaurant and a great choice if you’re looking for authentic Hong Kong-style food in a comfortable setting. I especially love their pan-fried fish pancake with green onion, which is one of my favourite things to order here.

Their dinner menu is also worth checking out because Sun Sui Wah transforms into a classic Cantonese seafood restaurant at night. If you’re going for dinner, I highly recommend the live lobster with sticky rice and corn. It’s such a satisfying Cantonese seafood dish!

I hope you enjoyed my Top 5 List of Dim Sum Restaurants in Vancouver! These are some of my favourite spots for authentic Cantonese and Hong Kong-style dim sum around the city, and I hope you give them a try if you ever visit Vancouver!
