Verace Pizzeria- (Verace Amore Package) Who Likes Burrata Cheese? I Do!
I bought the “Verace Amore” package ($15.00) last month from vaneats.ca and I have been itching to go ever since but never really found the time to. I finally made the effort to go and Meta Knight and I very much enjoyed our experience here.
We went during prime dinner time so we were quite surprised to see a pretty empty restaurant, especially with all the hype surrounding this new and authentic Italian pizzeria.
I found the service a bit slow even though there were only a few other occupied tables in the restaurant.
It’s random but I liked how the large jug of cold water was kept at our table because I drink a lot of water during my meals. 😛
Our first course was the Burrata Cheese and this was instant love and magic for both Meta Knight and I. If you have read my previous posts, you will know that I absolutely adore Burrata cheese and this dish is the reason why. The burrata cheese was finished with balsamic reduction and lemon oil, and served with rosemary pizza bread. This is a must have at Verace Pizzeria!
Our second course was the Salati Assortit which had the daily selection of cured meats and cheese, vegetables, and marinated olives. It also comes with the rosemary pizza bread that was in the previous course. Overall this course was a nice starter but it didn’t wow us. We might be a bit biased though because neither of us like olives.
I always find meat, cheese, and wine super fancy and a little bit intimidating because I don’t know the proper procedure and technique to eat it. 😛 Does that make sense? And does anyone else think this?
Meta Knight loved the rosemary pizza. I think he would have been happy eating only that for dinner.
Because we thought the vaneats package would not be enough for the both of us, we ordered a Caprese to share. The small Caprese ($6.75) was essentially foir di latte mozzarella layered with tomatoes, and fresh basil dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The ingredients were beyond fresh but the entire dish could have used a pinch of salt. Both of us found it a little bland despite the balsamic vinegar.
The third course from the vaneats package was the 8” Brick Oven Baked Pizza and it had Prosciutto e Rucola on one side, and Funghi on the other.
This funghi pizza is my ultimate love. Next time I come to Verace, I am getting a whole one for myself. The exotic flavours of the Crimi, Portabella, and Oyster mushrooms were incredibly fragrant and the mushroom cream that is in place of the tomato sauce brought the Funghi pizza over the top.
Just take a look at this baby. If you are a mushroom lover, get the Funghi pizza! You will not regret it!
The Prosciutto e Rucola contained tomato sauce, fior di latte mozzarella, prosciutto, fresh arugula, and grana padano. This was a really good pizza as well, but is not match for the Funghi pizza.
We were given three types of infused oils (chili, garlic, and basil) as an accompaniment for the pizza.
Last but not least was the dessert, Lemoncello Layer Cake. It is made of limoncello infused lady fingers layered with lemon curd and mascarpone cream. Meta Knight found it too sour and I found it too sweet. I don’t know what happened but neither of us loved it.
I highly recommend Verace Pizzeria for your Napoletana pizza fix. The ingredients are of high quality, the pizzas are authentic, and the burrata cheese here is spectacular.

You're right! Our opinions are pretty much exactly the same other than the pizza. I prefer the prosciutto while you prefer the funghi. As a mushroom hater though, I still really enjoyed the funghi side.
