3 Healthy Smoothie Ideas To Reach Your Health Goals in 2022

Like most people, I absolutely over indulged over the holidays and January is the fresh restart I need to get back to my healthy lifestyle. ?? I know I need to make consuming vegetables/fruits as easy and convenient as possible so I’ve adopted a few tricks to keep myself on track.

One of the things I hate doing is washing and cutting produce. So what I do now is wash and prep my veggies the minute I get home. See my veggie prep hack video for full details on how I do it, but basically this helps me get the tedious stuff out of the way, and now when I open my fridge, everything is already washed and pre-cut! So convenient!

Kin’s Farm Market has been one of my go-to places to get produce because I like their wide selection of fruits and vegetables, as well as their affordable prices (did you know you can check their specials online?) . It has everything I need to fill my fridge with healthy goodness, and it’s just a really down-to-earth place to grab my fresh fruit & veg. ?

At Kin’s, I found some really cool items that I did not expect, like these “Sweetest Batch” blackberries from Driscoll’s! They literally were the sweetest blackberries I’ve ever tasted. It’s like they packaged their sweetest blackberries and put it into one convenient box for you to buy! How amazing is that?!

I also found jumbo blueberries at Kin’s and even though it’s hard to tell from this picture, each blueberry was my thumb size and also super sweet. So delicious!

Ok, enough chatter, let’s get to my 3 Healthy Smoothie Recipes! You can also watch a video of it here for a full rundown of the steps.

Classic Green Smoothie

This Classic Green Smoothie allows you to not only get a large amount of nutritious greens in one cup, but it also tastes great too!

Ingredients:

  • handful of fresh green kale leaves
  • 1/4 avocado
  • 1 ripe mango, in chunks
  • 1/2 banana
  • handful of ice
  • water

Blend all ingredients in a blender and serve!

PB & J Smoothie

I have this PB & J Smoothie about 3 times a week and it’s my absolute favourite smoothie on earth. The smoothie works best if you wash and freeze your berries ahead of time, but if it’s fine to use fresh berries as well. Just make sure to add a bit more ice to get the slushy consistency.

Ingredients:

  • handful of fresh spinach
  • 1 cup of berries (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries), pre-frozen
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter or any nut butter
  • 1 or 2 dates, pitted
  • handful of ice
  • water

Blend all ingredients in a blender and serve!

Strawberries & Cream Smoothie

This Strawberries and Cream Smoothie can also easily be called Strawberry Crumble Smoothie, because it gives you a hint of granola when drinking it, and it tastes like strawberries and cream oatmeal but in smoothie form!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup granola (any brand will work)
  • 1 cup of strawberries, can be frozen or fresh
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 cup of oat milk
  • handful of ice

Blend all ingredients in a blender and serve!

I’m a big believer in “healthy food doesn’t have to taste bland, bad, or unenjoyable”, and I think you’ll agree when you taste these smoothies. Just like Kin’s Farm Market, I aim to inspire as many of you to eat and be healthy as possible, and it’s honestly never too late to start. I try to ‘eat the rainbow’ ?  every day and shopping at Kin’s will help you do that.

Try purchasing fruits and veggies you’ve never tried before, and look up recipes when you get home on the internet! I’ll be offering easy and healthy recipes on my blog using unique fruits and vegetables found at Kin’s Farm Market so come back and have a read if you want some inspiration. ?
